For
a first visit to Africa, travel in Kenya is highly recommended as it
offers diversity and the elements that are to many, the very essence of
Africa - superb game viewing, tribal people and stunning scenery. If
you have been to Africa before you will be rewarded by Kenya's great
abundance and contrasting eco-systems.
The
country has a great diversity of physical features. Kenya is located on
the east coast of Africa, with the Equator running almost straight
through the middle of the country. With the Equator traversing the
country, there are no four seasons as in Europe but two rain seasons at
almost the same time of the year. The rains fall in short heavy down
pours or violent storms preceded by heavy black clouds as a warning.
Sunshine is experienced throughout most days of the year although it
becomes cooler during the months of June, July and August.
In Kenya it is possible to leave Nairobi, a city with a thriving
business heart powered by the latest information technology, and drive
in just a few hours to a place where life is lived in accordance to
tradition and custom, where warriors armed with spears drive cattle
into thorn brush enclosures to protect them from lions at night. |
